Pommery

The mustard tradition of Meaux,
opened to new flavours.

Meaux, east of Paris, has a long mustard tradition. The town records that J. B. Pommery received the mustard-making recipe in 1760. The family business passed into a new production era in 1925.

That is the history of the house. Its lemon-and-basil and honey varieties bring distinct flavours to modern sandwiches, salads and everyday meals.

LE CARACTÈRE

Mustard texture,
softened by honey.

Pommery honey mustard brings honey sweetness to mustard’s distinctive flavour. Use a little when a sandwich or roasted vegetable dish would benefit from both sweetness and acidity. Spread thinly or mix gradually, keeping the main ingredient in focus.

Try tossing it lightly with cooked carrots or potatoes, or spreading it on just one side of a ham sandwich. Taste it before adding extra honey or sugar.

LE PAIN & LA MOUTARDE

A mellow French mustard pairing

Honey and mustard form its central pairing, distinct from the citrus and herbs of Lemon & Basil. Try it inside a sandwich before adding other sauces. Salty ingredients such as cheese or ham make a useful contrast to the sweetness.

Our pantry selection offers more ways to enjoy bread. This jar can change a familiar sandwich or simple plate with very little preparation; add a small amount and adjust to taste.

UN GESTE SIMPLE

A gentle glaze for roast carrots.

A simple serving idea from BORISSOU PARIS. Add a little, taste and make the meal your own.

  1. Lightly oil the carrots and roast until tender. Halve thicker ones lengthways so they cook more evenly.

  2. Loosen a small amount of honey mustard with a little oil or warm water.

  3. Coat the roasted carrots lightly and taste. Serve with bread to enjoy the sauce left on the plate.

UNE AUTRE ASSIETTE

Gentle sweetness for simply cooked chicken.

Serve cooked chicken with a thin layer of honey mustard, or offer a little at one side to compare bites with and without it.

Taste the mustard before adding another sweet ingredient. A little oil or water can loosen it to the consistency you prefer for salads or sandwiches.

  • Cook the chicken through before slicing.
  • Serve the sauce separately so each person can adjust it.
  • Spread thinly in a sandwich to avoid soaking the bread.

À VOTRE TABLE

A little at a time, to your taste.

Choose bread to serve

A layer in a sandwich

Spread a little on baguette or sliced bread, then add ham, cheese and vegetables. Adjust the amount to balance the sweetness with your filling.

Beside roasted potatoes

Serve a little in a small bowl beside roasted potatoes or vegetables, ready to dip or add to taste.

In a salad dressing

Mix a little honey mustard with olive oil and vinegar. Taste with the vegetables and adjust the dressing and seasoning to suit.

BON À SAVOIR

Good to know.

How much should I spread in a sandwich?

Start with a thin layer on one side and taste with the ham or cheese. Use less sauce when the filling is strongly seasoned.

Does it work in salads?

Mix with oil for salad leaves or cooked potatoes. Taste its own sweetness and acidity before adding extra vinegar or honey.
