1760Pommery
The mustard tradition of Meaux,
opened to new flavours.
Meaux, east of Paris, has a long mustard tradition. The town records that J. B. Pommery received the mustard-making recipe in 1760. The family business passed into a new production era in 1925.
That is the history of the house. Its lemon-and-basil and honey varieties bring distinct flavours to modern sandwiches, salads and everyday meals.

LE CARACTÈRE
Lemon and basil,
through the texture of mustard seeds.
This wholegrain mustard combines the texture of seeds with lemon and basil. The maker describes lemon, preserved lemon zest and basil leaves as its aromatic ingredients. Try it with gentle flavours such as chicken, fish or plain bread.
For a sandwich, spread a thin layer on one cut surface. Its acidity connects the filling with the bread, while the lemon and basil add an aromatic finish. It can also be whisked with oil for a salad dressing.

LE PAIN & LA MOUTARDE
A small layer changes a sandwich
Pommery describes it as a traditional-style mustard with lemon zest and basil. Citrus and herbs sit alongside the mustard character. Spread inside bread before adding ham and cheese, or mix a little into dressing. Start small and balance it with the other ingredients.
When our baguette becomes a sandwich, mustard can connect the ingredients. Explore this lemon and basil pairing with familiar bread and salads.
UN GESTE SIMPLE
A thin layer in a baguette sandwich.
A simple serving idea from BORISSOU PARIS. Add a little, taste and make the meal your own.
Split and lightly toast the baguette, then let the steam escape briefly.
Spread a thin layer of mustard, then add cooked chicken and well-drained salad leaves.
Taste before adding more mustard. Use less with salty ham to keep the filling balanced.

UNE AUTRE ASSIETTE
A brighter direction for potato salad.
Drain boiled potatoes, cut them into pieces and fold in a little mustard. Lemon and basil offer another direction from a mayonnaise-led potato salad.
You can loosen a small portion of mustard with oil first. Leave the potatoes in pieces to enjoy their soft interior beside the mustard’s seed texture.
- Drain the potatoes so the dressing does not become watery.
- Taste the mustard’s acidity before adding lemon juice.
- Try a small portion beside chicken or fish.

BON À SAVOIR
Good to know.
How do I make a dressing?
Start with one part mustard to two or three parts oil. Add a little water or lemon juice to adjust the texture and acidity, tasting with the salad.
How is it different from honey mustard?
Choose lemon and basil for a brighter aromatic direction, and honey for a sweeter one. Lemon and basil is a useful first choice for a light chicken sandwich.
